Bihar is set to receive another Amrit Bharat Express train, strengthening its rail network and providing a major boost to connectivity ahead of the state assembly elections later this year.

This will be the 11th Amrit Bharat Express to originate from or pass through Bihar, highlighting the state’s growing prominence in the Indian Railways’ expansion plan.

Currently, 11 Amrit Bharat Express trains are operational across the country, with 10 already serving Bihar directly or indirectly.

Designed to offer affordability and comfort, these trains provide passengers—especially from lower and middle-income groups—an experience close to that of the premium Vande Bharat Express.

The upcoming train will run between Darbhanga in Bihar and Madar Junction (Ajmer) in Rajasthan, opening up a new corridor of connectivity between eastern and western India. Initially, the service will operate on a weekly basis, according to the Ministry of Railways.

Equipped with modern amenities, the Amrit Bharat Express boasts features such as semi-automatic couplers, modular toilets, fire detection systems, EP-assisted brakes, emergency talk-back devices, redesigned seats and berths, pantry cars with upgraded layouts, continuous lighting, charging points with mobile holders, and safer gangways.

Together, these upgrades ensure a safer, more comfortable, and affordable journey for lakhs of passengers.
