Lucknow: A disturbing video showing a law student from Amity University in Lucknow being slapped repeatedly by classmates inside a vehicle has gone viral on social media. The incident reportedly happened on August 26, but surfaced publicly recently, raising serious concerns about campus bullying.

The victim, Shikhar Mukesh Kesarwani, a second-year law student, was slapped as many as 26 times over a period of about one and a half minutes. The video shows a female student continuously slapping him while others, including a male student named Ayush, verbally abuse and threaten him. The attackers repeatedly demand that the victim "put his hand down" as he tries to defend himself. The verbal exchanges in Hindi include references to other students and threats.

Based on a complaint filed by Shikhar’s father, police registered an FIR against six students, including Ayush Yadav, Jahnvi Mishra, Milan Banerjee, Vivek Singh, and Aryaman Shukla. The police have initiated legal proceedings, and an investigation is underway.

Shikhar’s father said the assault has left his son traumatised, causing him to avoid attending classes. The students involved are accused of also verbally abusing and threatening the victim’s family.

Amity University has acknowledged the viral video and stated that the authenticity is being verified before commenting further. The institution has promised to take necessary disciplinary action based on the investigation.
