Several units of blood and plasma have been stolen from the AIIMS Bhopal blood bank. An outsourced employee is booked and police are investigating with CCTV footage.

Bhopal: Several units of blood and plasma have been stolen from the blood bank at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhopal.
The case was registered at the Bagh Sevania police station after the blood bank in charge, Dr Gyanendra Prasad, lodged a complaint, officials said.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Misrod area) Rajnish Kashyap Koul, blood and plasma units had been going missing for some time. An outsourced employee has been booked in the case and will be arrested soon, he added.
Investigators have sought CCTV footage from the AIIMS administration as part of the inquiry. Police sources said the accused was recently caught on camera allegedly stealing plasma units and passing them to an unidentified person.
AIIMS authorities, suspecting insider involvement, had earlier installed CCTV cameras inside the blood bank. Police have launched a probe into the incident.
