Kolkata: Abhishek Banerjee, the National General Secretary of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), inaugurated a new digital campaign, “Ami Banglar Digital Joddha”, on Thursday.

The initiative is designed to reclaim Bengal’s digital narrative and combat misinformation that undermines the state’s identity.

The campaign, described as a people-powered digital movement, seeks to safeguard Bengal’s spirit, celebrate its creativity, and empower citizens to actively participate in the digital discourse. Its primary objectives are to unite Bengal’s digital forces, protect the cultural legacy, strengthen future prospects, and foster creativity across communities.

Banerjee has urged the youth of Bengal to join this digital initiative, positioning them as a “digital army” to counter false narratives propagated by vested political interests. Participants can engage in three categories: Content Creators (The Creator Force), Social Media Managers (The Community Leaders), and Digital Amplifiers (The Force Multipliers).

Through ‘Ami Banglar Digital Joddha’, AITC envisions a digitally empowered Bengal that defends its cultural identity while driving meaningful change online. Registrations for the programme are open from October 16 to November 30, 2025, via www.ABDigitalJoddha.com.

The AITC initiative marks an unprecedented move in Bengal’s political and cultural digital landscape. By combining community participation with strategic digital engagement, the campaign aims to create a sustainable online ecosystem that both promotes Bengal’s rich cultural heritage and counters misinformation.

Abhishek Banerjee emphasised that the programme is open to all citizens, including creators, influencers, and community leaders, to ensure a broad-based impact. The registration portal will remain active for over a month, providing ample opportunity for participants to join. The initiative reflects AITC’s effort to integrate politics with digital literacy, encouraging the youth to actively shape Bengal’s narrative in the online sphere while fostering civic responsibility.
