Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: A 23-year-old who confessed to brutally murdering six people in the Thiruvananthapuram was shifted to Medical College on Monday after informing the police that he had consumed poison.
Earlier today, Affan confessed before police that he attacked and killed six people, including his family members. Later, a police investigation recovered several bodies, including that of his grandmother, younger brother and female friend.
According to the police, the 23-year-old was addicted to drugs. He had been living abroad before recently returning to Kerala. His father has been residing overseas for an extended period.
Afan’s mother, who suffered severe injuries in the attack, is undergoing treatment. The murders took place at his home in Vembayam, where he attacked his mother, younger brother—who was a ninth-grade student—and a female friend.
The motive behind the killings remains unclear. On Monday evening, Afan voluntarily surrendered at the Venjaramoodu police station, confessing that he had murdered six people. The authorities are continuing their investigation to verify his claims and determine the circumstances leading to the crime.
