Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor allegedly received a ₹5 crore extortion threat from someone claiming to be Harry Boxer. A voice comparison reportedly found no match with official samples.

Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor allegedly received an extortion threat demanding ₹5 crore from a caller claiming to be Harry Boxer, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. However, a preliminary examination of the threatening audio has raised doubts about the caller’s identity, with the voice reportedly failing to match official samples of Boxer.
According to Mumbai Police sources, Kapoor informed the police after receiving the threat. The investigation was subsequently handed over to the Anti-Extortion Cell and the Crime Branch.
The Crime Branch’s technical team examined the audio recording and compared the caller’s voice with official audio samples of Harry Boxer available in its database.
Senior police officials said the samples did not match, raising suspicion that someone may have impersonated the gang member and used the gang’s name to intimidate the actor.
Investigators are now trying to identify the person who sent the audio recording, Mumbai Police sources said.
The mismatch between the voices has raised the possibility that the extortion threat was not made by the person the caller claimed to be. Police are examining the recording as part of the investigation.
