Thrissur, Kerala: Thrissur on Saturday witnessed a peculiar robbery, when an Edappal businessman, Mubarak, lost ₹75 lakh to a gang in a grey Innova. The robbery happened near the Mannuthy bypass at around 5:00 AM.

Mubarak had just arrived from Bengaluru and got off a bus at the bypass. He stopped at a nearby shop for tea and kept a bag containing the cash in front of the shop.

How the robbery happened

Mubarak stepped away for a moment to urinate. During this short time, a man wearing a cap grabbed the bag. There was a brief struggle, but the thief managed to escape in the Innova.

The money included funds from KSFE chit and the sale of a vehicle. Mubarak was planning to travel to Edappal when the robbery happened.
