Chennai: A Malayali was found dead following a blast near Dindigul in Tamil Nadu. The deceased has been identified as Sabu John (59), a native of Kottayam. Explosives, including gelatin sticks and wires, were found near his decomposed body, which police believe to be four days old. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrived at the scene and initiated a probe.

It is reported that Sabu John had been farming on lease in a mango orchard in Tamil Nadu. He had travelled to Dindigul a month ago and had been unreachable on his phone for a week. His decomposed body was discovered by locals in a private estate near the 17th hairpin bend close to the Sirumalai forest hills after they noticed a foul odour in the area.

Upon finding the body, the information was relayed to Dindigul Taluk Police. During the inspection, an explosion occurred, injuring three policemen. They sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Medical College Hospital for treatment.

District Police Chief A Pradeep visited the site and assessed the situation. The Crime Branch and Bomb Squad also conducted a detailed inspection of the area.
