Kochi: The whereabouts of actor Siddique, who faces imminent arrest in a sexual assault case, remain unknown. According to sources, Siddique was staying at a hotel in Kochi but quickly left following the Kerala High Court's decision to dismiss his anticipatory bail plea. He reportedly abandoned his own vehicle and left the hotel in a friend’s car, with reports indicating that he remains in Kerala.

The incident bears similarities to a previous case involving actor Dileep, who also faced allegations related to the actress assault case. When Dileep applied for anticipatory bail, police were stationed at his residence in Aluva, prepared to take him into custody if his plea was denied. On that occasion, law enforcement ensured that Dileep could not evade arrest. However, the authorities appear to have been less vigilant in Siddique's case.

Following the High Court's verdict, the police conducted searches at Siddique’s residences in Padamugal, Kakkanad and Kuttamassery, Aluva on Tuesday morning. Both houses were found locked. Neighbours reported seeing Siddique’s car at his Aluva home on Monday.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the actor's mobile phone had been switched off. According to reports, the last activity from the phone was traced to Palarivattom. Meanwhile, it has emerged that Siddique’s son consulted senior advocate B Raman Pillai to discuss the next legal steps.

Meanwhile, the Kerala High Court expressed surprise at the government's inaction regarding the Hema Committee Report. The report, submitted in 2019, highlighted several challenges faced by actresses in the Malayalam film industry, particularly concerning issues of safety and harassment.
