Tanur: In nothing but cruelty to an unwell lottery seller, an unidentified person duped him of Rs 5,000 by changing the date of the Kerala Government Nirmal Lottery ticket. The person who came on a bike cheated Vadakumpat Dasan, a resident of Moolakal here.

The incident took place in front of the Tanur temple. The person on the bike showed a ticket and asked Dasan to check the result. On checking, it was found that there was a gift of Rs 5,000. Dasan told the man that he did not have enough money on hand to pay the prize money.

To resolve the issue, Dasan let an unidentified person have 41 tickets valued at Rs 40 each and paid the remaining Rs 3,300 in cash. Dasan borrowed Rs. 2,000 from a nearby shop to pay the biker. The man then declined to accept the remaining Rs. 60.

Later, when Dasan delivered the ticket to the agency in Tanur, he noticed that the date on the ticket had been changed. Dasan filed a complaint with Tanur Police.

Dasan has been bedridden for a long time due to paralysis in 2018. Since his limbs and eyes are weak, Dasan has been sitting in front of the Sobha temple doing lottery business for the past many years.
