Samastipur: Four people have been arrested after a video purportedly showing a girl being harassed by a group of men in broad daylight in Bihar's Samastipur district went viral on social media.

Police have also registered an FIR in connection with the incident, according to SP Samastipur.

The incident reportedly took place on an embankment bypass road in the Jagatsinghpur area under Karpoorigram police station limits. The video circulating online appears to show a group of youths surrounding and harassing the girl as she was walking with a boy.

According to reports, the girl and the boy had stopped on the road to take a photograph when some local youths allegedly approached them. The men are accused of abusing the girl and harassing her. The video of the incident was subsequently circulated on social media.

Police action followed after the footage gained attention online.

The accused are reportedly from the Jagatsinghpur village area. The video has triggered attention on social media, with users drawing comparisons with a recent harassment case reported from Jamui.

The case is now being investigated by Samastipur police.
