Pune (Maharashtra): In a stunning development in the Ketan Agarwal murder investigation, the parents of 19-year-old accused Siya Goyal have publicly condemned their daughter, demanding the most severe retribution if she is found complicit in the businessman's death.

Speaking to journalists, Siya’s mother, Pooja Goyal, expressed profound grief for the victim's family and insisted that no leniency should be shown to her daughter.

“... If anyone is at fault in this, they should be given the harshest punishment. Even if it includes my daughter. If my daughter is found guilty, then she should be thrown from the same place where Ketan was thrown..." Pooja Goyal said.

Pooja emphasised that the family was completely blind-sided by the allegations and had no knowledge of the co-accused, Chetan Chaudhary. She revealed that Siya had seemed content with the upcoming arranged marriage, for which a lavish Rs 8-crore wedding had been planned at a luxury resort in Udaipur. "The family had so much hope for Siya and Ketan's marriage... Ketan's family also treated Siya with great affection and love," she added.

Echoing his wife's anger and heartbreak, Siya’s father, Pravin Goyal, stated that Ketan was loved "like a son" and demanded that the actual perpetrators face an eye-for-an-eye punishment.

"Whoever did this should receive the harshest punishment. Just like the fort from which our Ketan fell, whoever is found guilty, even if it's my own daughter, should be pushed from there..." Pravin Goyal asserted.
 


Pravin maintained that Siya was traditionally viewed as a simple girl and denied any prior knowledge of her personal relationships outside the engagement. "Where did Chetan come from? I've never seen his face... Ketan's family members are very good, cultured people... We've lost a son and a wonderful relationship," he said.

According to the Pune Rural Police, Siya allegedly conspired with her friend Chetan Chaudhary to eliminate Agarwal because she was unwilling to proceed with the marriage. Investigators allege that Siya grew close to Chaudhary after meeting him at a Diwali party, though she reportedly was not ready to marry him either.

The police probe suggests that after a failed attempt to push Agarwal off Lohagad Fort on June 14—which Siya allegedly covered up by yelling about a snake—the conspirators eventually succeeded in executing the fatal plot. Meanwhile, both Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary remain in police custody until June 29 as the investigation continues.
