Tension erupted in Pulivendula after a late-night clash between two groups near a Ganesh idol, with one round allegedly fired into the air.

Pulivendula: Tension prevailed in Pulivendula in Kadapa district after a clash between two groups near a Ganesh idol late on Monday night reportedly led to firing into the air.
According to reports, the confrontation involved supporters of Pushpanath Reddy and Vijay Kumar Reddy.
The dispute reportedly began after Vijay Kumar Reddy questioned Pushpanath Reddy over not felicitating him.
What started as a verbal exchange subsequently escalated into a confrontation between the two groups.
During the clash, a gunman attached to Haj Committee director Mabhasha allegedly fired one round into the air, according to reports. No information about any injuries has emerged so far.
Following the incident, three vehicles belonging to supporters of Pushpanath Reddy were reportedly damaged near Vijay Kumar Reddy's residence.
The incident comes amid heightened political activity in Pulivendula, where the political contest between the TDP-led alliance and YSRCP has intensified ahead of local body elections.
The TDP had made significant gains in Pulivendula with its victory in the ZPTC by-election in 2025.
