Thiruvananthapuram: Notorious goon leader Omprakash was taken into police custody by the Thumba police on Saturday night.
Police officials clarified that there are no new cases against Omprakash, and he is in preventive custody.
The incident began with a car accident on Bypass Road near Thumba station, where a motorcycle passenger was struck by a car. An argument ensued at the scene, and when the police arrived, they found Omprakash with the driver of the car involved in the accident. The driver was also found to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result, both Omprakash and the driver were taken into custody.
The police have registered a case against the driver, a friend of Omprakash, for driving under the influence of alcohol and causing the accident. However, no charges have been filed against Omprakash. The police stated that Omprakash will be released after they complete their inquiry into the details of their journey.
