
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been questioning Tahawwur Rana, an accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case. Amid this, NIA officials from Kochi have reached Delhi. Senior officials of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Superintendent of Police (SP) rank are among those who have arrived.
Sources indicate that they are participating in Rana’s interrogation at the NIA headquarters. It is learnt that the agency is examining Rana’s visit to Kerala.
Rana had visited Kochi with his wife, Samraz Akhtar, before the November 26, 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Between November 11 and 21 , he travelled to various parts of the country, including Kochi. Reports from that visit are now being used in the current phase of questioning.
In addition to Kochi, the agency is trying to ascertain whether Rana visited any other parts of Kerala, whom he contacted, and who extended support for his accommodation and travel.
