
Mankulam: In a shocking incident at Mankulam, Idukki, two photographers who had come to capture a wedding were brutally beaten up by the bride's relatives. The altercation started when the photographers, Jerin from Muvattupuzha and Nithin from Vazhithala, raised concerns about the poor condition of their accommodation. Both have lodged formal complaints against their attackers.
Based on their complaint, the Munnar Police registered a case against the bride's relatives -- Yadu and another identifiable persons.
According to the complaint, the photographers had arrived to capture the wedding at a private resort in Mankulam. The room initially allotted to them was occupied by the bride's relatives, who reportedly continued consuming alcohol from there, leaving it in disarray. After recording the ceremony, the photographers expressed inconvenience and informed the bride about the situation. This enraged the relatives. Then, while returning from work, the photographers’ car was intercepted and they were abused and beaten up at two places.
Meanwhile, the relatives alleged that the photographers misbehaved with the bride. They also have lodged a complaint with the Munnar Police in this regard. However, the statement of the girl was not recorded in the complaint.
