Perinthalmanna: Father of a minor who is accused of sexually assaulting her for almost three years has been sentenced to double life imprisonment and 38 years of rigorous imprisonment. A fine of Rs 2.75 lakhs was levied upon him as well. The punishment was awarded by Sooraj, the judge at the Perinthalmanna Fast Track Special Court- 1. 

In case the accused fails to pay the fine, then he will have to undergo additional imprisonment for two years and nine months.      

The court also instructed the district Legal Service Authority to ensure that the victim is duly compensated.  

The investigation pertaining to the case was done by a team of cops led by Kalikavu police station inspector Sasidharan Pilla.
