A month after Ketan Agarwal's death, his father recalls subtle concerns his son shared about Siya Goyal, saying the family dismissed them as ordinary relationship issues.

A month after 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal allegedly lost his life after being pushed off Lohagad Fort, the investigation continues to uncover new leads, but for his family, the focus remains on an absence that has only grown harder to bear.
At an emotional press conference on Friday, Ketan's father, Vishal Agarwal, spoke publicly about his son's memories, the family's devastating losses and the questions that still haunt them.
His remarks came weeks after Ketan's grandfather also passed away, leaving the family coping with two bereavements in quick succession.
Addressing questions about the accused, Siya Goyal's father, Praveen Goyal, Vishal Agarwal pointed to what he described as a contradiction in the family's public stand.
He said that while Siya's father has stated that she should receive the harshest punishment if found guilty, the family is simultaneously making efforts to secure the best legal defence for her.
Calling it a 'double standard', he questioned how both positions could be maintained at the same time.
Reflecting on Ketan's relationship with Siya, Vishal Agarwal said his son had never indicated that there were any major conflicts between them.
According to him, Ketan would occasionally mention that Siya became upset or irritated easily and that her phone often remained busy, but the family treated these as ordinary disagreements common in a new relationship and advised him to remain patient.
The grieving father said the family had been looking forward to welcoming Siya as their daughter-in-law and believed they were arranging a happy future for their only son. Fighting back tears, he said the tragedy could have been avoided if the marriage proposal had simply been declined instead of allowing events to reach such a devastating point.
He added that no one can be compelled into marriage in today's time and said no parent should ever have to shoulder the coffin of their own child. Appealing to other families, he urged parents to remain alert and involved in their children's lives.
Vishal Agarwal also spoke about the personal toll the incident has taken on his family, saying he lost not only his only son but also his father within days.
He described the pain of losing the man who had raised him and then the son he had hoped would one day care for the family in return, saying the grief would remain with him for the rest of his life.
He further revealed that Ketan and Siya's match had been arranged through his maternal uncle and aunt, Narendra Mittal and Renu Mittal, who had acted as mediators between the two families. According to him, the relatives had assured them that they knew Siya well from childhood and gave the family complete confidence about the alliance.
However, in light of the developments that have surfaced during the investigation, Vishal Agarwal said he now believes those who arranged the marriage may have been aware of details about Siya that were never disclosed to Ketan's family.
He said he hopes the ongoing investigation will uncover the complete truth and that justice will ultimately prevail.
Police have alleged that Ketan Agarwal was pushed off Lohagad Fort on June 18 by Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary. The probe remains underway, with both accused currently in judicial custody.
