A retired Indian Air Force Group Captain was allegedly attacked with an iron rod during a dispute with a parking attendant at a Gurugram restaurant parking lot, leaving him seriously injured, police said.
The incident took place around 8 pm on September 10 in the Sector 65 police station area, when Group Captain Amit Kumar Gupta, a retired IAF officer, had gone out for dinner with his family at a restaurant in Magnum Global Park.
What happened at the Gurugram parking lot?
According to Gupta's complaint, he first dropped off a family member near the restaurant before driving towards the parking area to park his vehicle.
Police said an altercation allegedly broke out between Gupta and the parking attendant over the positioning of the vehicle. The argument reportedly escalated, with the attendant allegedly striking the retired officer on his head and hand with an iron rod.
Gurugram Sector 65 Station House Officer Rambir said police were informed about the incident and subsequently went to the hospital to record Gupta's statement.
