Kozhikode, Kerala: Feroke police have seized a large cache of counterfeit currency and arrested five people, including two undergraduate students.
Officers recovered 57 fake ₹500 notes, 30 printed sheets used for producing the notes, and a printer allegedly used in the operation.
The arrests were made following searches at the homes of the accused in Ramanattukara, Kondotty, Areekode and Mukkam. Police first recovered 35 counterfeit ₹500 notes from the house of Dijin, a resident of Ramanattukara.
Those arrested have been identified as Dijin of Ramanattukara, Athul Krishna of Kondotty, Amjatsha and Afnan of Areekode, and Sarang of Mukkam.
Amjatsha and Afnan are reported to be undergraduate students.
