A case has been registered after a three-and-a-half-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted at a playschool in Delhi's Jafrabad area, with police examining CCTV footage and medical findings as part of the investigation.
The case has been registered under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Juvenile Justice Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the school's director, principal, a teacher and a caretaker, according to police sources.
Police received a complaint from the child's family following the alleged incident. The boy was taken to GTB Hospital for a medical examination, and a joint examination was also conducted, police said.
According to the family, the child was beaten at the playschool and was subjected to inappropriate conduct. They approached the police after observing changes in his behaviour, including alleged difficulty sleeping and fear of using the toilet.
Police have seized CCTV footage from the playschool and are examining it along with the medical examination findings and other evidence to establish what happened.
No arrests have been made so far, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
