A Delhi businessman who runs a bouncer-providing agency in the NCR has been arrested in connection with an alleged transnational arms trafficking and terror module linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, police said on Monday.

The accused, identified as 45-year-old Rishabh Kapoor, was apprehended on September 3 during the ongoing investigation. Police said an Austrian-made Glock pistol and five cartridges were recovered at his instance.

Kapoor, a resident of Vasant Vihar in south Delhi, is alleged to be a close associate of Deepak Nanda alias Mama, who was arrested earlier in the case. Nanda is allegedly associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

With Kapoor's arrest, the number of people held in the case has risen to 20. Investigators have so far recovered 33 sophisticated foreign-made firearms and 368 live cartridges, including two sub-machine guns.

Police said Kapoor works as a businessman and financier and also operates a bouncer-providing agency in Delhi-NCR. He had previously been booked in two cases.

The investigation centres on an alleged international arms trafficking and terror network. A chargesheet against 18 arrested accused and absconding accused Shahbaz Ansari was filed before the special UAPA court at Rouse Avenue on August 24.

The latest arrest adds another accused to the widening investigation, which has already led to the seizure of a large cache of foreign-made weapons and ammunition.
