A Flipkart delivery executive has been arrested in Bengaluru after a woman accused him of forcing his way into her apartment and allegedly exposing himself inside her home. The incident, which surfaced after the woman detailed her experience on social media, prompted swift action from Bengaluru Police, leading to the registration of a criminal case and the arrest of the accused.

According to police, the accused has been identified as Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat. Authorities registered a case under Sections 75, 79 and 329(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) after receiving the woman's complaint. Police said further investigation into the case is underway.

The woman alleged that the delivery executive arrived at her residence to hand over a package before requesting permission to use her washroom. In a post shared online, she said she repeatedly declined the request and suggested that he seek help from neighbouring residents instead.

Despite her refusal, she claimed the delivery agent entered her apartment without her consent after removing his footwear.

She further alleged that after using the washroom, the man deliberately exposed himself, leaving her shocked and feeling unsafe inside her own home.

Describing the incident, the woman said she had clearly told the delivery executive several times that she does not allow strangers into her house. She said she even directed him to nearby male neighbours, believing they could help if it was genuinely an emergency.

In her account, she said a woman's refusal should have ended the conversation and that no one has the right to ignore personal boundaries or force entry into someone's home. She added that the incident left her feeling violated, humiliated and deeply shaken.

The allegations gained widespread attention after they were shared on social media. Bengaluru Police responded publicly to the post, asking the woman to provide details so that the claims could be verified and legal proceedings initiated. Following her formal complaint, the accused was arrested.

Flipkart says delivery executive was terminated immediately

Responding to the incident, Flipkart said it had immediately ended its association with the delivery partner named in the complaint and was extending full support to the customer.

The company said customer safety remains a top priority and confirmed that an FIR has been registered. It added that it is cooperating fully with investigating authorities throughout the probe.

Flipkart also stated that delivery partners undergo mandatory background verification and training before onboarding. While describing such incidents as extremely rare, the company said even a single case of this nature is unacceptable and that it is reviewing whether additional safeguards can be introduced to further strengthen customer safety.
