Netflix is set to release a new mythological thriller series starring Vaani Kapoor titled ‘Mandala Murders’, on July 25.

Produced by YRF Entertainment, the series is directed by Gopi Puthran of ‘Mardaani’ fame, and Manan Rawat.

This marks a second collaboration of Netflix and YRF on a series after ‘The Railway Men’ was well-received in 2023.

Alongside Vaani, the key cast of ‘Mandala Murders’ features Vaibhav Raj Gupta of ‘Gullak’ fame, Surveen Chawla and Shriya Pilgaokar.

Aditya Chopra, Uday Chopra, Yogendra Mogre and Akshaye Widhani serve as executive producers on the project, which promises to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller.

The premise of Mandala Murders

Set in Charandaspur, the story follows Rea Thomas (Vaani) and Vikram Singh (Vaibhav) as detectives who are drawn into the investigation of some ritualistic killings.

The murders are connected to a secret society that dates back to several centuries, toeing the line between faith and madness.

“In the eerie stillness of a town called Charandaspur, an unheard, sinister pattern of crime emerges. A series of ritualistic killings linked to a centuries-old secret society sets the stage for a conspiracy driven by fate,” the makers said in a press statement.

The success of ‘The Railway Men’

Netflix and YRF’s previous mini-series, ‘The Railway Men: The Untold Story of Bhopal 1984’, released in November 2023, starring Babil Khan, R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Sunny Hinduja, Juhi Chawla Mehta, and Divyendu Sharma in lead roles.

The four-episode series is based on true events regarding the Bhopal Gas Tragedy and the unsung Indian Railway officers who saved many lives after the leak at the Union Carbide Limited plant in Bhopal. Rubais helmed the cinematography while editing was done by Yasha Jaidev Ramchandani.
