In a heartbreaking announcement on September 15, 2025, viral Pakistani child star Ahmad Shah revealed that his younger brother, Umer Shah, has passed away.
The 15-year-old, beloved for his appearances alongside Ahmad in hit TV shows like Jeeto Pakistan and ARY Digital’s Shan-e-Ramazan, succumbed to a sudden cardiac arrest in the early hours of Monday.
Ahmad, widely known for the 'Peeche Toh Dekho / Peeche Tou Dekho' meme that made him a household name, shared a touching message, calling Umer the family’s 'little shining star' and seeking well-wishers to keep him in their prayers.
According to reports, the fatal event was triggered by vomiting, which led to fluid entering Umer’s lungs—a medical emergency known as aspiration—cutting off his oxygen supply and resulting in cardiac arrest.
Waseem Badami, another respected figure in Pakistani media, confirmed that this happened around the time of Fajr prayers on Monday morning.
The news has sent ripples of grief through Pakistan’s entertainment industry and among fans. Jeeto Pakistan host Fahad Mustafa expressed being 'speechless' at Umer’s death, while ARY Digital CEO Jerjees Seja said he was 'still in shock.'
Actress Mahira Khan wrote, “Unbelievable. Don’t even know what to say. May Allah give his family sabr.”
This tragedy marks the second devastating loss for the Shah family. Less than two years ago, in November 2023, they lost their youngest daughter, Ayesha, due to health complications.
Umer may have been young, but his presence—full of innocence, joy, and genuine warmth—left an indelible impression on the millions who saw him beside his brother, on TV or in social media reels.
Though his time was short, the love he inspired now carries him forward in the memories of fans, friends, and family. May he rest in peace.
