At the 71st National Film Awards, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji bagged their first-ever honours but it was SRK’s sweet pallu gesture and hair-fixing moment for Rani that melted hearts online.

The 71st National Film Awards in Delhi turned into a night of milestones and heartwarming moments as Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji bagged their first-ever National Awards.
After over three decades in cinema, Khan was honoured with Best Actor for 'Jawan' (2023), while Mukerji won Best Actress for her moving performance in 'Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway' (2023).
However, it wasn’t just the awards that won hearts — Shah Rukh’s gentlemanly gestures towards his longtime co-star stole the show.
Dressed in a brown silk saree with a golden border, Rani was carefully assisted by Khan, who held her saree’s pallu as she took her seat to ensure it didn’t get caught.
In another viral clip, he was seen fixing her hair and planting a gentle kiss on her cheek, sending fans into a frenzy.
Social media lit up with love as fans poured in comments: “No one can be a better gentleman than SRK”, “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and KANK nostalgia”, and “Ek hi toh dil hai, kitna baar jeetoge SRK babu?”
The ceremony also saw Vikrant Massey win Best Actor for '12th Fail' (2023), while Malayalam superstar Mohanlal was conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his outstanding contribution to cinema.
