Rima Kallingal’s fearless performance in a physically demanding coconut-climbing scene has become the talk of ‘Theater: The Myth of Reality’. Ashraf Gurukkal, who choreographed the action, revealed that the actress endured multiple injuries while executing the sequence, showcasing her dedication and skill. Directed by Sajin Babu, the film tells the story of a mother and daughter living on a remote island, exploring complex human emotions on the edge of faith. The director’s effort to bring these layered narratives to life has earned widespread audience acclaim.

Ashraf Gurukkal, who choreographed the action sequences, shared his experience on social media:

"The film is now running in theatres, and the reviews have been phenomenal. Sajin Babu’s filmmaking surprised us where we least expected it. I watched the film only yesterday, having missed the preview. Rima Kallingal – I never imagined this artist would deliver such a powerful performance. Perhaps it’s because she rarely gets such roles. That’s Sajin Babu’s brilliance.

Every character in the theatre scenes was carefully chosen, and the story’s structure reflects that, which I believe is why the film has been so well received. When I visited the shooting location, Sajin Babu explained the story, and art director Saji Joseph showed the coconut that Rima had to climb.

The climbers hadn’t attempted that coconut in days. Looking up, you could see the height and curve. I explained the potential risks to Rima, and she said, ‘If you say OK, I’ll try.’ I assured her she wouldn’t fall. My fighter did a demo first, and I could see genuine fear on her face, and even I myself was hiding my fear inside.

After starting the shoot, within an hour and a half, Rima executed the scene like a skilled coconut climber. When she came down, her body was covered in bruises..."

The film also features Dain Davis, Saras Balushseri, Pramod Veliyanad, Krishnan Balakrishnan, Megha Rajan, Anne Salim, Balaji Sharma, D Raghuthaman, Akhil Kavalayoor, Aparna Sen, Lakshmi Padma, Meena Rajan, RJ Anjali, Meenakshi Ravindran, Ashwathi, Arun Sol, Ratheesh Rohini, among others. Each character delivers performances that resonate deeply with audiences.
