‘Varane Avashyamund’ directed by debutant Anoop Sathyan made headlines with the impressive cast including yesteryear’s favourite star pair Shobana and Suresh Gopi. Audience will be glad to watch their favourite stars who ruled the industry in the 90’s. The movie starring Dulquer Salmaan also marked the Mollywood debut of director Priyadarshan and actress Lissy’s daughter Kalyani. It is a complete family entertainer as the trailer and teaser hinted.

The movie discusses about how the responsibility of being a mother influences a woman in her life. But the movie gives a strong message that such responsibilities will not hinder a woman from enjoying her freedom.

‘Varane Avashyamund’ narrates the complexity of family relationships as a comedy.

The story of the movie evolves with the life of Neena, a French teacher. Shobana plays the role of Neena who is a divorcee and settled in Chennai with daughter Nikhita. Kalyani Priyadarshan played the role of Nikhita who is a banker by profession. Nikhita is on mission to find a suitable life partner for her. As the mother and daughter hold completely different views on married life, the mother does not intervene in her daughter’s marriage proposals.

The story takes a twist when Major Unnikrishnan, an army man arrives into the flat complex where Neena and Nikhita are residing. Suresh Gopi nailed the role of Major Unnikrishnan who is short tempered as well as reserved. The story takes a new turn when Neena and Unnikrishnan encounter with each other.

Dulquer Salmaan played the role of Bibeesh who is nicknamed as ‘Fraud’, another new neighbour of Neena and Nikhita. KPAC Lalitha played the role of Bibeesh’s granny. The story is taken into another level when Bibeesh influences Nikhita to change her views on family and relationships.

Suresh Gopi’s performance is the major highlight of the movie. He made a real comeback to acting with this character. The senior actor played the character which have two different shades. At first, we see him as a rude and mentally irritated man. But in the second half, he turns into the role of a romantic person.

Shobana’s performance also needs special mention. He represented the women who have a powerful character. Actress Urvashi also impressed the audience with her role in the movie.

Dulquer Salmaan, Kalyani, KPAC Lalitha, Johny Antony, Lalu Alex, Major Ravi and Siju Wilson also made their best contribution for the movie.

Songs composed by Alphons Joseph also gave life to the movie.

Dulquer’s production company Wayfarer films in association with M Star entertainments produced the movie.
