Yash had plenty to say about Vijay during the Chennai promotional event for ‘Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups’. The Kannada star, who was in the city for a major event at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium on Monday, praised Vijay’s commitment to his fans and his move into politics.

Yash, who has built a massive following across India through the KGF films, said he has long admired Vijay and the connection he has built with the people of Tamil Nadu.

Speaking on stage, Yash said Vijay’s journey had been an inspiration for many actors and that he and others had learnt a lot from the Tamil star.

"I've always said that we've really learnt a lot from him (Vijay). We've admired him, his commitment and the love he has earned from people. It's evident now. People have given him that position and responsibility. We're very happy that it's set a new trend. People have such faith in and I can see that he's so disciplined and dedicated," Yash said.

Yash also spoke about the respect Vijay has earned outside the film industry. He pointed out that the former actor now has a different responsibility after entering politics and said he hoped Vijay would live up to the trust placed in him.

Yash also brought up his association with K V N Narayana, who is producing both ‘Toxic’ and Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’. According to Yash, Narayana has often spoken to him about Vijay’s work ethic and dedication to the people of Tamil Nadu.

"Narayana has said so many times about Vijay's passion and how many hours he is working from morning to night for the people of Tamil Nadu. Actors have a duty to return the love and respect they receive from their fans. Vijay has now reached a stage where he is trying to give back to the people of the state," he said.

For Yash, the relationship between an actor and their audience goes beyond films. He suggested that artists who receive immense support from their fans also have a responsibility to give something back.

Yash also wished Vijay well for his political journey and spoke positively about Tamil Nadu’s 2026 Assembly election.

"We all wish him good luck. It's a very progressive thing. Now let's hope that the entire country gets into this kind of political thing. I really appreciate the people of Tamil Nadu. I heard that the election this year was so transparent without any mishap. That's a sign that Tamil people have given that responsibility to him. I think he has the capacity to live up to it," Yash said.

Vijay, who stepped away from acting to focus on politics, is the founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. His political debut has been closely watched, particularly with the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election approaching.

Yash was in Chennai as part of the promotions for ‘Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups’. The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 26 in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.
