‘Veezha Veera’, the second single from Dhanush and Mammootty’s ‘Om’, composed by Sai Abhyankkar, is out now.

The makers of ‘Om’, starring Dhanush and Mammootty, have unveiled the full version of ‘Veezha Veera’, the film’s second single. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the action entertainer is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 20, bringing together the two stars for the first time.
Wunderbar Films, which is backing the project, announced the song’s release on X. The track features music by Sai Abhyankkar, who has also lent his voice alongside singer Tippu. Arun Srinivasan has penned the lyrics for the energetic number.
Sharing the song with fans, Wunderbar Films wrote, "You hear it. You feel it. The power of #OM, the new anthem for @dhanushkraja. Veezha Veera, second single from #OM out now."
‘Veezha Veera’ follows positive response to earlier releases
Producer Shraddha Agrawal of R Take Studios said the decision to release the complete track came after listeners expressed interest in hearing the full version of the theme.
“The response to ‘Alaakaa Loova’ was incredibly encouraging, and seeing audiences embrace the song and keep it trending was truly special for all of us. When we released the ‘Veezha Veera’ theme, the love and excitement from listeners made it clear that they wanted to experience the full song. We wanted to give audiences what they were asking for, and we are thrilled to bring the complete track to them. Sai has created something exciting, and we hope the song receives even more love.”
Sai Abhyankkar is composing the music for the film, which also features Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela in the lead female roles.
‘Om’ release date and postponement explained
The film was initially slated to open in theatres on October 16. However, Dhanush subsequently announced a change in plans, explaining that the team had decided to defer the release as a mark of respect for Rajinikanth, whose ‘Jailer 2’ arrived in cinemas on October 15.
Dhanush also clarified that ‘Om’ would not target the Deepavali release window, as a film starring Suriya had already been announced for the same date. The makers later confirmed November 20 as the new release date.
Dhanush, Mammootty team up for the first time
One of the biggest talking points surrounding ‘Om’ is the collaboration between Dhanush and Mammootty, marking their first time sharing a project. Malayalam cinema star Mammootty plays a character named Karthikeyan, director Rajkumar Periasamy revealed during the film’s title teaser launch in June.
At the event, the director also disclosed that between 60 and 65 per cent of the film’s shooting had been completed at the time. The team has since filmed portions of the project in Malaysia. Mammootty also celebrated his recent National Film Award win on the sets alongside fellow award winners Dhanush, Rajkumar Periasamy and editor Kalaivanan R.
Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah is also part of the cast.
What is ‘Om’ about?
The title teaser offered a glimpse into a story centred on people who earn their livelihood by cutting red sanders. Dhanush plays a woodcutter in the film, with the preview showing police officers detaining workers accused of illegally felling the trees. As the situation escalates, his character steps in to rescue them.
The film’s title carries the subtitle ‘Chapter 1’, hinting at the possibility of a continuation.
Speaking at the teaser launch, Wunderbar Films head Sreyas described the project as one of the biggest-budget productions of Dhanush’s career. He also indicated that the film would present the actor in the mass-oriented avatar his fans have been eager to see again.
‘Om’ has cinematography by Ezhil Arasu, editing by Kalaivanan R and costumes by Kavya Sriram. With Sai Abhyankkar handling the soundtrack, the film brings together a cast led by Dhanush and Mammootty, alongside Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela and Naseeruddin Shah.
