Speaking at the film's audio and trailer launch in Chennai, the actor called working with Suriya a dream come true

Actor Nazriya Nazim is returning to Tamil cinema after a gap of 12 years with ‘Scene’, and she says the opportunity has been a dream come true. The actor, who will share screen space with Suriya and Malayalam actor Naslen in the upcoming film, spoke about her return at the film's audio and trailer launch in Chennai on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, Nazriya expressed her affection for Chennai and thanked Tamil audiences for continuing to support her even during her absence from the industry.
"I always love coming to Chennai. Even when I wasn't doing Tamil films, the love, affection and support that the Tamil people gave me never waned," she said.
The actor also thanked director Jithu Madhavan for casting her as Maya. Describing the character, she compared Maya to someone from the popular Japanese manga and anime series ‘One Piece’. She added that she was proud to be the filmmaker's first heroine.
"The reason for my comeback to Tamil cinema after 12 years is first and foremost Suriya sir. This is truly a dream come true for me," Nazriya said.
She added that she had missed out on opportunities to work with the actor once or twice in the past and was happy that they were finally sharing screen space.
Her return is particularly significant as her last Tamil film was ‘Thirumanam Enum Nikkah’, released in 2014. Since then, Nazriya has continued to work predominantly in Malayalam cinema, both as an actor and producer.
Written and directed by Malayalam filmmaker Jithu Madhavan, ‘Scene’ marks his Tamil directorial debut. He is known for films such as ‘Romancham’ and ‘Aavesham’, the latter starring Fahadh Faasil.
The film features Suriya as DSP Inbaraj, a police officer with an unconventional approach to his job. Naslen plays Eeswaran Joseph, who appears to be a formidable opponent to Suriya's character. Nazriya plays Maya, whose character also gets glimpses of action in the trailer. The supporting cast includes Lal, Anandraj and Raj Priyan.
The makers unveiled the official trailer of ‘Scene’ on October 31, at the film's audio and trailer launch event in Chennai. The trailer offers a glimpse of the film's mix of action, comedy and crime, with Suriya appearing as a rebellious police officer and Naslen taking on a darker role.
Produced by Suriya and Jyothika under the banners of 2D Entertainment and Zhagaram Studios and the film has music composed by Sushin Shyam.
‘Scene’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026.
