Suriya's latest release, 'Scene', has made its way to cinemas, bringing together an ensemble cast led by the actor alongside Nazriya Nazim and Naslen. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the crime thriller opened during the Diwali season alongside Nayanthara's 'Mookuthi Amman 2'. According to a report by Filmibeat, Netflix has reportedly acquired the streaming rights to 'Scene' for Rs 88 crore. The film is said to have a four-week theatrical-to-OTT window, potentially placing its digital premiere in the first weekend of December 2026. However, neither the platform nor the filmmakers have officially confirmed the streaming date.

When will Scene release on OTT?

If the reported four-week agreement holds, 'Scene' could arrive on Netflix approximately 28 days after its theatrical debut. This points to a possible release during the first weekend of December 2026.

The reported timeline is not final, though. The film's performance at the box office could influence its digital premiere, with a successful theatrical run potentially pushing the OTT release further back. Viewers will have to wait for an official announcement to know the confirmed date.

What is ‘Scene’ about?

Jithu Madhavan, known for directing Malayalam films such as 'Romancham' and 'Aavesham', has taken charge of this crime thriller. The film adopts an unconventional narrative structure, using criminal incidents, encounters and unexpected developments to move its story forward.

Suriya plays DSP Inbaraj, a police officer whose distinctive style and commanding presence were highlighted in the trailer. The promotional video offers a glimpse of the film's mix of action and humour, while also drawing attention to the characters played by Nazriya and Naslen.

The trailer's visuals and Sushin Shyam's background score further contribute to its high-energy presentation. The performances of the lead cast have also emerged as talking points among viewers.
