Netflix has removed Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, ahead of SS Rajamouli’s combined edition Baahubali: The Epic, releasing in theatres on October 31.

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli is set to bring his blockbuster saga back to cinemas with ‘Baahubali: The Epic’, a combined edition of 'Baahubali: The Beginning' and 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion'. Ahead of its release, fans have noticed that both films are no longer available on Netflix, sparking speculation about the reason behind their removal, as per various reports.
Netflix Removal sparks speculation
'Baahubali: The Epic' is scheduled to release on October 31. While the original films had been streaming on Netflix for years, users recently reported that they no longer appear in search results, with some encountering the message: “Oh no! This title currently isn’t available to watch in your country.” Screenshots of this notice have circulated widely on social media.
The timing of the removal has led to debate: some fans speculate that the streaming rights have expired, while others suggest it could be a strategic move to build anticipation for the upcoming combined release. Social media reactions include, “#Baahubali series removed from Netflix ahead of Epic release!! A marketing strategy?”, “No bro. The rights expired ig. They've been telling us for a month.”, “Instead of Baahubali 1 & 2, Baahubali Epic will stream.”
About Baahubali: The Epic
The announcement of Baahubali: The Epic was made in July on the 10th anniversary of the original film. Rajamouli shared a poster featuring Prabhas and the release date on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“Baahubali…The beginning of many journeys. Countless memories. Endless inspiration. It’s been 10 years. Marking this special milestone with #BaahubaliTheEpic, a two-part combined film. In theatres worldwide on October 31, 2025.”
The film will merge Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), following the story of a man who discovers the truth about his past and claims his rightful place on the throne. Baahubali: The Epic will release in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi.
The Baahubali franchise has been a massive box office success, with the first film earning ₹650 crore worldwide and the sequel collecting a staggering ₹1,788.06 crore, making it the third highest-grossing Indian film of all time, after Dangal and Pushpa 2: The Rule.
