Although they have been friends for 20 years, Kalabhavan Rahul and Subi Suresh professed their love for each other only five months ago. The couple had plans to tie the knot on Valentine’s Day this year, but had to postpone the event due to two foreign programmes.
“Our dream to get married on Valentine’s Day failed to be a reality and Subi’s condition also worsened. Following which, we decided to postpone the wedding to March,” said Rahul, who is still trying to come to terms with the loss.

“We have been good friends throughout the last 20 years. We have known each other since college days. However, the idea of marriage never struck us all those years,” said Rahul, who is also Kalabhavan’s programme director.
Admiring Subi’s determination and perseverance, Rahul added that Subi was always cheerful even during tough times. "She always kept sorrows to herself," he added.
Actor-cum-anchor Subi Suresh breathed her last at a private hospital in Kochi on Wednesday. She had been undergoing treatment for liver related illness.
