Ahead of his February 26 wedding with Rashmika Mandanna in Udaipur, Vijay Deverakonda’s old interview resurfaces where his mother revealed the one simple condition she had for her future daughter-in-law.

Udaipur: Years before his wedding was even announced, Vijay Deverakonda’s parents had made one heartfelt wish about their future daughter-in-law. As the actor now prepares to marry Rashmika Mandanna on February 26, that old interview has resurfaced — and fans say it feels prophetic.
At the Geetha Govindam success meet in 2018, anchor Suma asked Vijay’s parents what kind of daughter-in-law they envisioned.
Vijay’s mother, Madhavi, gave a simple yet emotional answer. She said she had just one condition — she wanted a daughter-in-law who would take good care of her son and love him unconditionally. She added that since Vijay belongs to the film industry, his partner should understand the nature of his profession.
His father, Govardhan, echoed a similarly relaxed view. He said he had no rigid expectations regarding caste or religion and would support his son’s choice. His only preference, he mentioned, was that she be Indian — preferably South Indian.
Vijay, who was present at the event, made his stance clear: he believed in love marriage, but added that it was important his parents also loved the woman he chose.
