Kochi: Veteran actor Mohanlal visited Kerala MLA Uma Thomas at her residence in Palarivattom as she continues her recovery after being discharged from the hospital. Accompanied by producer Antony Perumbavoor, Mohanlal met Uma Thomas, who has been advised complete rest following a serious accident in December.

The meeting was filled with warmth and encouragement. When Uma Thomas' son asked his mother to stand up, Mohanlal gently declined, emphasizing comfort. Uma Thomas expressed her happiness at their visit, and Antony Perumbavoor held her hand, reassuring her with the words, "Our prayers are always with you."

During the conversation, Mohanlal mentioned that his film shooting was scheduled nearby. Uma Thomas acknowledged the outpouring of support, stating that all of Kerala had prayed for her. Antony Perumbavoor affirmed this, saying, "Of course, they did." Uma Thomas added that after witnessing the accident, it was impossible for anyone not to pray for her recovery.

Uma Thomas' road to recovery

On December 29, 2024, Uma Thomas suffered a serious accident after falling from the stage during the inauguration of a dance program at the International Stadium. She sustained critical injuries to her head, spine, and lungs and was admitted to Renai Medicity in Kochi, where she remained under intensive care for 47 days.

She was discharged on February 15, 2025, and doctors have advised her at least two and a half months of complete rest before resuming her regular activities.
