Mumbai: Grammy-nominated American rapper Travis Scott’s much-awaited concert in Mumbai turned chaotic for several fans after the event became a target for thieves, with valuables worth at least ₹18 lakh reported stolen, Mumbai Police said.

Thousands gathered at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse on Friday night to watch the US rapper, singer and songwriter perform as part of his CIRCUS MAXIMUS World Tour. While the crowd danced to Scott’s hit tracks, a group of thieves allegedly exploited the packed venue to carry out multiple thefts.

According to initial data, 24 mobile phones and 12 gold chains were reported stolen, amounting to losses exceeding ₹18 lakh.

Following the concert, numerous attendees approached the Tardeo police station to lodge complaints. A case has been registered against unknown persons under Sections 303(2) and 304 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is under way.

Police are examining CCTV footage from the concert entrance and other strategic points to identify the culprits. Efforts are ongoing to recover the stolen items and trace those responsible.

Earlier this month, Scott performed in Delhi as part of the India leg of his world tour, produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment division of BookMyShow.
