Tharun Moorthy celebrates five years in cinema, paying heartfelt tribute to his team and legends Mohanlal and Shobana.

Kochi: Celebrating five remarkable years in the film industry with a heartfelt note, Malayalam director reflected on the journey that shaped his cinematic career. In his emotional message, he highlighted three films closest to his heart: Operation Java, Saudi Vellakka and Thudarum, describing the unique experience of each.
Tharun noted that Operation Java brought “quiet joy during COVID”, ‘Saudi Vellakka’ felt like a “warm family get-together” and Thudarum emerged as a “grand celebration of love, madness and pure passion for cinema.”
He expressed deep gratitude to his collaborators, including producers Reja Puthra Visual Media, Chippy Renjith\, and Avantika Renjith, and his entire crew, acknowledging that any love he receives today as a director is because of their collective efforts.

In a particularly touching segment, Tharun paid tribute to Malayalam cinema legends Mohanlal and Shobana, calling Mohanlal “the universe himself” and Shobana “the class.” He said both cared for him with their art, and he, in turn, reciprocated with his heart, underscoring the profound professional and personal bond he shares with these icons.
He also thanked his mentors, colleagues, creative teams, family, and close friends, noting that his journey was shaped by both guidance and unwavering support. Tharun concluded the note with a personal message to his partner Revathy Roy, affectionately calling her “The RR — my Kukku, my Kunji,” emphasising the central role she has played in his life and career.
