Ad-hoc committee member Ramesh Pisharody revealed that AMMA has initiated talks with stars like Swetha Menon and Ansiba to bring back resigned members.

Kochi: Efforts are underway to resolve the ongoing crisis within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) and revive the film body. Actor and AMMA ad-hoc committee member Ramesh Pisharody, also Palakkad MLA, stated that active discussions are being held to bring back members who had previously resigned from the association, aiming to resolve internal conflicts and move forward unitedly.
Pisharody revealed that he has already held direct talks with actors who resigned, including Shwetha Menon, Ansiba Hassan and Mallika Sukumaran. He added that the matter has also been discussed with veteran stars Mammootty and Mohanlal. The current focus is to deeply understand the grievances that led to their exit and find appropriate solutions.
"Technically, the ad-hoc committee is just a paper committee. Its primary responsibility is to conduct elections at the earliest to elect a new governing body," Pisharody said, adding that the committee made several key decisions during its first meeting recently. "Even with a limited membership, AMMA is an organisation that does immense welfare work. Witnessing its current state is deeply painful as an active member. We will intervene to resolve personal allegations and disputes in the best possible way."
Pisharody noted that he was prepared for the responsibilities of the ad-hoc committee and assured that a permanent committee would be formed soon to ensure smooth operations. He expressed optimism that the issues would be sorted out once the new leadership takes charge.
However, Pisharody made it clear that he will not be taking up any official leadership roles in the upcoming committee, citing his current pre-occupations and commitments in Palakkad as an MLA. He affirmed that he will continue to extend full support for the smooth functioning of the association from the outside.
