Mumbai: Renowned actress Tabu has officially joined the cast of director Puri Jagannadh’s upcoming film. The makers confirmed her inclusion through a formal announcement, adding further excitement to the much-awaited project.

Known for her selective film choices, Tabu will be seen portraying a pivotal character in the story. The actress was reportedly drawn to the role and the engaging narrative, leading her to immediately accept the offer.

Vijay Sethupathi to lead the cast

The untitled film will feature Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. The project was officially announced on the festive occasion of Ugadi. Puri Jagannadh, who has written the script, has ensured that every role in the film carries significant importance.

The production is expected to begin in June. The film is slated for release in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The rest of the cast and crew will be revealed in due course.

An intense storyline backed by a strong team

Described as an intense and gripping tale, the film promises a powerful narrative where each character plays an essential role in the unfolding drama. The project is being produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under their production banner, Puri Connects.

Vijay sethupathi’s recent work

Vijay Sethupathi was last seen in 'Viduthalai' Part 2, directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaran. In 2024, he appeared in three films. He started the year with 'Merry Christmas', directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring Katrina Kaif. The bilingual thriller revolved around a quiet Christmas Eve that unexpectedly changes the lives of two strangers.

His 50th film, 'Maharaja', directed by Nithilan Saminathan and featuring Anurag Kashyap, also released in 2024 and became a major box office success. 'Viduthalai' Part 2 marked his final appearance of the year, further adding to his list of notable performances.
