Thiruvananthapuram: The beloved Malayalam film 'Summer in Bethlehem', which captured hearts upon its release in 1998, is set to return to theatres after 27 years. The emotional evergreen classic will be re-released in 4K visual quality with state-of-the-art sound, bringing its nostalgic magic to a new generation of viewers.

The film, featuring Manju Warrier, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, and Kalabhavan Mani, with Mohanlal in a memorable guest role, was directed by Sibi Malayil and written by Ranjith. It was originally produced by Sibi Malayil under the Anjana Talkies banner.

The upcoming re-release is being presented by Anjana Talkies and Everyday Films, in association with Kokers Media Entertainments. Following 'Devadoothan' and 'Chotta Mumbai', 'Summer in Bethlehem' is the latest Malayalam classic to be digitally remastered in 4K by High Studios. The release date will be announced soon.

The film’s cinematography was handled by Sanjeev Shankar, with L Bhoominathan as editor. Its music by Vidyasagar and lyrics by Gireesh Puthenchery remain deeply cherished by Malayali audiences. The soundtrack features legendary singers including KJ Yesudas, KS Chithra, Sujatha, MG Sreekumar, Srinivas, and Biju Narayanan.
