Producer Sujatha Vijayakumar, the mother of Aarti Ravi, has publicly defended her daughter after Tamil actor Ravi Mohan made a series of emotional allegations about their marriage and ongoing separation.

The ongoing controversy involving Tamil actor Ravi Mohan, his estranged wife Aarti Ravi and singer-spiritual healer Keneeshaa Francis has taken another turn after Aarti’s mother, producer Sujatha Vijayakumar, broke her silence on the issue.
Speaking to reporters during a public event, Sujatha strongly defended her daughter against claims made by Ravi Mohan during a recent press conference, where the actor spoke about alleged cyberbullying, harassment and personal struggles surrounding their separation.

Sujatha denied Ravi Mohan’s claim that he was being prevented from meeting his sons, Aarav and Ayaan. She also addressed questions about the circumstances surrounding Ravi and Aarti’s marriage.
Referring to an old magazine interview, she claimed details existed about “who blackmailed whom” and alleged that someone had “cut their wrists” during the events leading up to the marriage.
While she did not elaborate further, the remarks quickly drew attention online amid the already heated public dispute.
‘My grandson is under stress’
One of the most emotional moments from her interaction with the media came when Sujatha spoke about the impact the controversy has had on the couple’s children.
According to reports, she said the family had avoided escalating the issue publicly because her grandson, who is reportedly appearing for Class 10 examinations, is already under severe emotional stress.
She said the teenager had witnessed things “he should not have seen at such a young age”, adding that the situation had deeply affected him.
Denies financial allegations
Sujatha also rejected Ravi Mohan’s statements suggesting he was unable to freely use his own earnings during the marriage.
Responding to claims that he contributed ₹25,000 towards her medical expenses, she said that even if he had done so, it would have simply been “his duty as a son-in-law”.
She further stated that many of the financial matters being discussed publicly had already been clarified before the court.
The producer also commented on allegations of cyberbullying involving Keneeshaa Francis and online supporters.
She said the family would approach the Cyber Crime unit to determine “who actually bullied whom”, suggesting that the matter should be investigated officially instead of debated publicly on social media.
Meanwhile, trans activist and author Thanuja Singam, who has previously supported Aarti Ravi publicly, also criticised Ravi Mohan following his press interaction. In a video shared online, she accused the actor of “playing the victim card” and questioned the contradiction between posting indirect remarks about his estranged wife online while later presenting himself as innocent. She also claimed that an apology had already been issued earlier, but the controversy continued to escalate publicly.
Ravi Mohan and Aarti Ravi got married in 2009 and announced their separation in 2024 after nearly 15 years together. The controversy surrounding their marriage, personal allegations and Ravi’s reported relationship with Keneeshaa Francis has since remained one of the most discussed topics in Tamil entertainment circles.
