Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra has officially commenced filming for his next, ‘VVAN - Force of the Forrest’. Touted to be a folk thriller, the upcoming film went on floors on Monday. Sidharth took to his social media handles to announce the commencement of the shoot. Taking to Instagram Stories, Sidharth shared an image of a film clapper board that read details such as the title, scene number, shot number, and take number.

‘VVAN: Force of the Forrest’ stars Sidharth alongside Tamannaah Bhatia as the leading lady, making their first collaboration. Co-directed by Deepak Mishra and Arunabh Kumar, the movie is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor’s production house, Balaji Motion Pictures, and The Viral Fever (TVF).

Previously, in November last year, Sidharth had announced the film by sharing a video on his Instagram handle that showed a man running inside a dense forest. Set in the forests of Central India, ‘VVAN: Force of Fores’ is said to bring stories and legends from the forests to the big screens.

Reportedly, the film will be shot in the jungles of the country. Although not much is known about the movie at present, the makers have confirmed that the movie is slated for a theatrical release on May 15, 2026. It was previously scheduled for a Chhath 2025 release.

Other than 'VVAN: Force of the Forrest', Sidharth, who was last seen in 'Yodha', is gearing up for his next, 'Param Sundari ', co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Tushar Jalota and backed by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock films, the teaser of 'Param Sundari' was released in May alongside the theatrical release of Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi-led 'Bhool Chuk Maaf'. The film is expected to hit cinema halls on July 25, and will feature Sidharth as a Punjabi munda and Janhvi as a South Indian beauty.

Meanwhile, on the personal front, Sidharth and his actor-wife Kiara Advani are expecting their first child. After dating for a few years, the couple tied the knot in February 2023 at the Suryagarh fortress hotel in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. They announced their pregnancy in March through a common social media post.
