Thilakan has played prominent roles alongside Malayalam movie legends like Mammootty, Mohanlal, and even the new generation of actors.

In a recent interview with Master Bin, a YouTube channel, Thilakan’s son, Shobi Thilakan opens up about the rumours of rift between Thilakan and Mammootty. In the interview, he clarified that there was no animosity or conflict between the two actors.

"There was no issue or enmity between the two as everyone says. These rumours are created by others. They had their differences, but who doesn’t? Where there is love, there can be disagreements too. What I understand is that Mammootty and my father shared a deep bond. It was that love which occasionally led to arguments between them," said Shobi Thilakan.

"My father was admitted to the hospital for 33 days at KIMS Hospital before he passed away. During that time, several people came to visit him. Among them were Mammootty and Dulquer. Unfortunately, they couldn’t meet my father. But Mammootty met with the doctor. I still remember what he told the doctor that day. He said, ‘He is someone very dear to us, and we need him back as he is.’ I heard those words myself," Shobi added.
