Shobha Tharoor Sreenivasan

Shobha Tharoor Sreenivasan won the 68th National Film Awards for Best Narration Voiceover for her narration in the movie ‘Rhapsody of Rains – Monsoons of Kerala’.

Shobha Tharoor Sreenivasan, who is settled in the US, is a renowned writer, social activist and children’s book author. She is the eldest sister of Shashi Tharoor MP. Shobha was the model for Amul’s face, the cute little girl seen in the brand’s advertisements and thus became India’s first-ever 'Amul' girl.

The documentary that helped Shobha win the award, ‘Rhapsody of Rains – Monsoons of Kerala’, was directed by Siraj Shah and produced by Invis Multimedia as a project to promote Kerala tourism. The 20-minute-long movie inculcates the various expressions of rain and the myths, festivals, and beliefs revolving around it.

The movie was filmed during a span of five years across various locations.

Shobha narrates the plot with her sweet voice in English and Malayalam.
