Kochi: Efforts are currently underway to resolve the complaint filed by actress Vincy Aloshious, who has alleged inappropriate behaviour by actor Shine Tom Chacko during a film shoot. The complaint was submitted to both the Film Chamber and the Internal Committee (IC).

During a recent IC meeting, Shine Tom Chacko issued an apology to Vincy and assured her that such behaviour would not be repeated. Vincy, however, expressed her dissatisfaction over the fact that the name of the accused had become public. She had earlier indicated that she was not inclined to lodge a police complaint and preferred for the issue to be addressed internally within the film industry.

The IC conducted individual hearings with both Vincy and Shine, followed by a joint session. Vincy left the meeting stating she would abide by whatever decision the committee reached.

The meeting took place on Monday at the Producers Association hall. Vincy attended the session alone, while Shine was accompanied by his family. During the meeting, Shine said that he had not acted with ill intent, describing his conduct as his “natural style”, but apologised if his behaviour had been perceived as inappropriate and pledged not to repeat it.

Sources suggest that the Internal Committee’s report will likely recommend a formal warning to Shine Tom Chacko. The final decision will rest with the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) and the Film Chamber. It is understood that both organisations are disinclined to impose strict disciplinary action, citing the ongoing crisis within the film industry as a factor in their approach.
