It’s no secret that Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan have long been pillars of the Bollywood film industry. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir Khan shared his thoughts on Pathaan (2023), the high-octane action film directed by Siddharth Anand, in which both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan made memorable cameo appearances. Aamir’s comments about a particular scene from the blockbuster, where Shah Rukh and Salman share the screen together, have since gone viral on social media.

Pathaan, produced by Yash Raj Films, forms part of the studio’s spy universe, featuring Shah Rukh’s character, Pathaan, and Salman as Tiger—a role he had previously portrayed in Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and its sequel Tiger Zinda Hai (2017). Tiger 3 (2023) was released post Pathaan as well.

Aamir Khan, who has not yet watched the entire film but has seen the viral scene, spoke candidly about it. "To be honest, I haven’t seen the full Pathaan movie yet, but I watched that particular scene after seeing all the discussions on social media," Aamir shared. "It was a humorous and entertaining dialogue, and I found it quite amusing."

Aamir also commented on the impact of the scene on younger actors in the industry. "While Shah Rukh and Salman are irreplaceable figures in Bollywood, their dialogue in Pathaan could make today’s young actors feel a little uneasy. The idea of who will take the industry forward after them is an interesting question, and while the line was said in a fun mood, it could create some discomfort for the younger generation," Aamir remarked, reflecting on the larger implications of the exchange.

He added, "It was a fun moment, but it does raise a larger issue of succession in the film industry. That's something we all are curious about."

While the line was delivered in a light-hearted tone, it undoubtedly struck a chord with fans, leaving many to speculate about the next era of Bollywood stardom. Aamir’s comments underscore that Shah Rukh and Salman are irreplaceable in their own right, but the question of who will carry the torch forward remains an ongoing debate.

Meanwhile, Aamir was last seen on the big screen was in the 2022 film Laal Singh Chaddha. The film unfortunately failed to perform well at the box office. 

In the meantime, Aamir was also involved in film productions. Notably, he co-produced Laapataa Ladies, India’s official Oscar entry, alongside Kiran Rao and Jyoti Deshpande.
