Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan was greeted by a large crowd of excited fans at Mumbai airport early Thursday as he left for Abu Dhabi to host the IIFA Awards 2024. Accompanied by his bodyguard and manager Pooja Dadlani, SRK made his way through the enthusiastic crowd, eager for a glimpse of the star.

Dressed in a casual black hoodie, sunglasses, and a cap, Shah Rukh exuded his signature style and calmness, smiling and acknowledging fans despite the frenzy. His bodyguard ensured his safety as he proceeded to the terminal.

Excitement for IIFA 2024 has been mounting, particularly after a lighthearted press event where Shah Rukh and Karan Johar engaged in playful banter. Shah Rukh humorously teased Karan about his frequent hosting gigs, quipping, "Bhai, picture bhi bana na... kitna host karega tu?" Karan responded with laughter, highlighting their close rapport.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the IIFA event, promising a night filled with laughter, entertainment, and glamour. Shah Rukh is also preparing for his upcoming film, 'King,' directed by Sujoy Ghosh, which reportedly features his daughter, Suhana Khan.

This year's International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) will be held in Abu Dhabi from September 27 to September 29. The three-day event will kick off with IIFA Utsavam, celebrating the southern film industries of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, where megastar Chiranjeevi will be honoured.

On the second day, stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Karan Johar will host the IIFA Awards night, entertaining the audience. Notably, Rekha will make her long-awaited return to the IIFA stage, her last performance being in 2018, where she dazzled with hits like 'Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya' and 'Salam-E-Ishq Meri Jaan.'

In anticipation of her performance, Rekha shared a heartfelt note through the IIFA team, saying, "IIFA holds a special place in my heart, representing not just a celebration of Indian cinema but a vibrant fusion of art, culture, and love on a global stage."

Other performers set to light up the gala include Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Ananya Panday, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal. IIFA 2024 will conclude on September 29 with the exclusive IIFA Rocks event, featuring live performances from artists like Honey Singh, Shilpa Rao, and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. (ANI)
