Mumbai: Days after securing his first-ever National Award in a film career spanning over 30 years, Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has achieved another milestone—he has officially become a billionaire.

The actor features prominently in the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025, topping the list of richest Bollywood celebrities with an estimated wealth of ₹12,490 crore.

Khan’s wealth is largely attributed to the success of his production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, founded in 2002. The company has produced several box-office hits over the years, including Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year, Jawan, and most recently, the hit series The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, directed by his son Aryan Khan.

Who are the others in the list?

In second place on the Bollywood list is actress Juhi Chawla and her family, with a net worth of ₹7,790 crore—much of it stemming from their stake in Knight Riders Sports, which co-owns the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders alongside Shah Rukh Khan.

Hrithik Roshan ranks third with ₹2,160 crore, boosted by the success of his fitness and lifestyle brand HRX. He is followed by filmmaker Karan Johar at ₹1,880 crore, while Amitabh Bachchan and family round off the top five with a wealth of ₹1,630 crore.

Commenting on the broader findings of the report, Anas Rahman Junaid, Founder and Chief Researcher at Hurun India, said:

“The M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025 reflects a mood of energetic progress tempered by caution. The cumulative wealth of India's richest climbed to ₹167 lakh crore, with 1,044 individuals gaining wealth versus 643 losing, showing that the wealth-creation engine remains strong.”

He added that growth was driven by sectors such as technology, automobiles, infrastructure, and real estate, supported by robust domestic demand, policy reforms, and an active stock market.

India now boasts 358 dollar-billionaires, up from 200 just five years ago, collectively holding wealth equal to nearly half of the country’s GDP. The report also highlights the increasing prominence of first-generation entrepreneurs, regional economic hubs beyond metropolitan cities, and new-age industries that are reshaping India’s economic landscape.

The 2025 list marks the 14th edition of the M3M Hurun India Rich List.
