Actor Dhyan Sreenivasan made a teasing remark about Tovino Thomas’ latest film Narivetta during a promotional event for his movie ‘Detective Ujjwalan’.

While interacting with the media, co-star Ameen happened to mention Narivetta, prompting Dhyan to quip, “If you say good things about Narivetta, you’ll get beaten up. I won’t hit you, but I’ll hire people to...” The comment triggered laughter among those present.

Detective Ujjwalan, directed by debutant filmmakers Indraneel Gopakrishnan and Rahul G, is produced by Sophia Paul under the Weekend Blockbusters banner. The film features Dhyan Sreenivasan in the lead, alongside Dr Rony David Raj, Siju Wilson, and Ameen.

Audience support despite rain

Dhyan also spoke about the strong audience turnout for ‘Detective Ujjwalan’, despite unfavourable weather conditions. He noted that even night shows were running houseful, and people were coming in groups on Sundays to watch the film. Ameen added that the film was houseful when he went to watch ‘Narivetta’, which prompted Dhyan’s witty remark.

The mention of ‘Narivetta’ brought to mind an earlier incident involving actor Unni Mukundan.

Police had registered a case following a complaint by Mukundan’s former manager, Vipin Kumar, who alleged he was assaulted. Vipin claimed the actor attacked him for sharing a social media post praising ‘Narivetta’.
